So I can’t believe that it is already the middle of Week 1 of summer break. I just know that this summer is going to fly by. We had a fun-filled weekend to kick of my summer break.
My mom arrived on Thursday. She came in for Liam’s first birthday. So, today was party prep. Mom, Emma, and I made Elmo plates and baked cupcakes. I added a “1” applique to a t-shirt I bought at Old Navy for Liam’s big day. I had a brief fight with my sewing machine…it decided to eat part of the t-shirt (front and back). Luckily, I was able to fix the front and no one saw the back. My goal is one sewing project a week for the summer. We’ll see if I can keep it up.
We also gave my mom the tour of the new house. She’s the first to be in it and will be the first to stay with us after we move. It was so exciting to show it off!
The kids loved having Grandma Bev around. I am so glad my mom’s schedule is flexible enough to come and visit us. It’s so much easier than trying to travel with them. I know she has to work really hard to save up any extra money for tickets, so it means a lot that she wants to use the little extra income she has to see us.
Liam is starting to get a bit of the stranger dan
ger…even though he was great around my mom in April, he had a hard time being with her if he knew Mark and I were in the house and just not near him. I felt bad for her; I hope she knows it was not her and it’s just a stage! 🙂
