First, thank you so much to everyone who helped us by giving advice on the chairs. The hunt will probably begin this weekend. (And notice I’ve been moving FB comments over to the blog pages since I often delete things on my Facebook account. I wanted to make sure we still had the content even when I clean up my FB page.)
So, question #2 for all of our friends out there who are parents is this: Do you have any must-have reads for us as parents-to-be?
We’ve been going through some of the more traditional books each week of the pregnancy, and we’ve really enjoyed spending time reading about the baby’s growth. My sister gave us her copy of What to Expect the First Year. We know the market for parenting and raising children books is large and diverse. And to be honest, I’ve been wondering how many are helpful and how many of them simply want our money and how many are actual books that we want to read. We don’t really have a specific “philosophy” we want to follow when it comes to raising Baby Jackson. We have talked a lot about what we want to do based on our experience growing up in our respective families, but we know that there are a lot of theories out there. Even if the theory isn’t “us”, we’re interested in learning more about what people out there are doing. So, please let us know if you have read of a book that you thought was inspiring, insightful, or helpful in some way. Everyone tells us to get reading now that we’re almost in the third trimester because we won’t have time to read them after the baby is born!
Our plan is to check books out of a local library, but if you have a book that you think we should absolutely positively buy, let us know that, too. (It’s convenient that Borders stores are closing…we may be able to get some of these at a cheaper price!) Please share your recommendations by adding a comment below. Thanks in advance for your help and advice!
