We started today a bit rough. Liam was up for a few hours last night. Stupid teeth. Not being rested messed up our plans for a run, but we got crafty and started painting artwork for the new playroom.
We have four 12×12 canvases ready to go. Next step: Emma’s and Liam’s hand prints.
Emma spent a lot of her day playing with moving boxes. Liam followed along.
When Liam wasn’t interested in what Emma was doing, he was trying to climb the steps.
Emma crawled into my lap and begged for storytime. She read a lot of books today and ended the day reading to me about Mat and Sam.
Liam wants more than ever to be a big kid. Emma had a straw cup so he had to have one, too.
My new camera lens came today. (Amazon Prime is seriously the most amazing thing ever…and free one-day shipping is insane. I ordered this last night and got it by 6 p.m.) Expect a lot of portrait photography as I learn to play with my new 50mm 1.4 lens. 🙂
More testing out the new lens. I didn’t have the settings all right with these, but I am excited to learn how to use it!
We went to check out the new house. Not much changed on the inside but they’ve got about 1/3 to 1/2 of the outside stone done. I’m still not sure that they’re going to be done by July 6 like they’ve promised, though….side note. I like the green better with the stone. Mark was right.

A close-up of the stone on the outside…it’s a bit darker than the stone I like on the house I used as the basis for what I want our house to look like. I like the red in it though, and I think it dulls down the green. I can’t wait to see it with the shutters!
As is tradition on June 13, we went to get ice cream/custard. Tonight, we went to Rita’s. It is the closest thing to Ted Drewes in Maryland. Why do we go get ice cream on June 13? It’s my dad’s birthday. If he was still alive, he’d be 90 years old today. I miss him so much.

I ended the day playing more with my new camera. Scout is a bit more eager to comply the kids or husband.
