So since Mark left, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how lucky we are. We’re doing really well despite the deployment. That’s not typical for many couples, and it’s definitely not true for couples where one spouse is deployed. The deployments have taken their toll on many relationships at Taji. It makes me sad, but I’m so thankful that Mark and I had such a great 15 days overall.
I’ve also been thankful for the many people who have been helping us along the way. Corby and Christy have given me so many words of encouragement and support since Mark left, and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen each of them. I’ve had friends like Ryan, Joey, and Ellen scheduling lunches and coffees with me this week after Mark left. I get to hang out with my sister-in-law Perri, too. I feel lucky that I have so many special who have given words of encouragement to me on Facebook since Mark left. All of the support has made each day a little better. Monday was awful. Tuesday was still blah, but today I’m starting to feel a bit more like Teresa again.
So, thank you to Mark for making time for us each and every day even though it isn’t always easy to find time and do things together. And my family and friends, thank you so much for taking care of me for the last 250 days. I just need you to help me and Mark survive the next 111!
