Today was long. Very long. Mark got home about 8:15 p.m., and the kids and I were done with each other by 5 p.m. We sold some of Emma’s old shoes this morning, and a trip for five things in Target turned into a $100 trip. Target never fails. Father’s Day Cards and laundry baskets (we’re building a shelf that will hold laundry baskets for our new laundry room) turned in toys and clothes, too. In my defense, the toys were ones I have wanted for a while, and Emma doesn’t get hers until she has been good. And Target finally had these:
Anyone who knows our daughter also knows these were must haves. I had to get a 5T in the dress…they were a bit pricey, but when you have a little girl who prefers superheroes to Barbie, you’ll do what you have to do.
So here are the highlights of our looooong day.

Me: Emma put on your shoes. This is what happens.

This was probably the only good 10 minutes I had with this boy all day. He was needy, cried the entire time he was in the car, didn’t nap enough, and has started gagging himself (and consequently puking). Teething sucks. Those back teeth just need to get in. Not surprising, when he napped, I napped. I had tons of work to do but I needed a break, and I had a Scout who was way too willing to cuddle.

This kid pulls up on everything. He’s standing for longer solo (until he realizes he has no help…then he freaks out and falls).

Waving is another favorite activity of LP’s.

She was trying to be good because she accidentally broke Mark’s mini tripod (that he used once) AND she really wants the toy we bought at Target. I told her it’s for a day when she’s just been really good.

I hope he’s not going to start running around naked like Emma. (By the way, Grandma Bev, I think you gave him this outfit. It’s really cute.)

One of my favorite pics of Emma that I have taken

I felt like being in grade school today. I threw the Doritos on my sandwich. #missedhavingMarkcookfor metoday #sospoiledwithachefofahusband

Emma loved this Bee, too. It’s part of why Bee is her nickname. Liam had it playing music for about 10-15 minutes this afternoon while Emma napped.

So…notice Liam has no clothes on. Because he spit up on them. After gagging himself. Which is normal. Why do babies think this is OK? Thank goodness for my good friend from college who is a pediatrician who gave me all kinds of advice today. #thisisgoingtobealongsummer #teethpleasecomein

For some reason both kids have loved doing this…they do it in the bathtub with the bowl, too.

Liam went to bed early. I hate days where Mark doesn’t see them. I think with his new job there will be more of those. Emma snacked on animal crackers, patiently waiting for Daddy to come home. I told her she could stay up to see him.
