Today was busy. So busy I didn’t even get the good camera out. We ran by Seton this morning so I could grab an exam that I need to grade. (I’m not a slacker. The student just took it…the students have to have tuition paid in order to be able to take an exam.) School is crazy…there is so much construction going on. It’ll be interesting to see if it all gets done on time. As always, after I talked with the dean, Emma need to use the bathroom and wanted to see my new room, so we wandered school. As we were leaving, we ran into one of our military friends from Cheyenne and his wife who will be teaching at Seton next year. It was so great to see him and meet her, even though it was just a few minutes.
After school, we ran to Michael’s to check out yarn for Liam’s new room and see what matches his bedding since my mom wants to make him a blanket. Then, home. I finished the second dinosaur artwork for Liam’s room, and then I started checking out the stain we want to use on the entertainment center Mark is building. We’re using this crate to put blankets in for the next house. We’ve had it for a while and wanted to do something with it. Since our current entertainment center is moving downstairs in the new house (and it has baskets that holds all of our throws for the family room), we needed something new. We wanted to match our current coffee table and end tables, and this stain is super close. Thank goodness for smart DIYers who blog and share all of their insights!

Three coats of stain!
So that was today’s nap time…three coats of stain on that to match Pottery Barn’s Rustic Mahogany. After a quick dinner, we went by the new house. We’ve got cabinets, trim, and railing. They’re ready to paint on Monday. Here are some sneak peeks of the inside.

Dining Room

Living Room–I was surprised to see the chair rails in here, too. I didn’t know that was coming!

Looking into the family room from the dining room

Looking into the kitchen and breakfast room from the family room…as you can see the downstairs is really open, which is what we wanted.

And the wine rack rack above the kitchen desk. 13 bottles. Better start saving for those! 🙂 And yes, we’re totally aware the doors aren’t flush. I noticed it immediately. Hoping they fix all of that!
