Being Thankful: Days 1-3

I’ve noticed a trend in Facebook statuses; a few of my Facebook friends have begun putting what they are thankful for in their status. I’m going to try and do this for every day in November, but I know I’m getting a late start so I’ll recap for the first few days of the month.

November 1
Today I’m thankful for four-day weekends. I love my flexible teaching schedule! It meant that I was able to help my in-laws out by watching their dog, Murphy. I was also able to make my father-in-law and sister cupcakes for their birthdays. I had time for workout, talking to Mark, and school. I’m feeling pretty balanced lately. I also saw a drop in the pounds on the scale. Super super exciting. After working out so hard since June, I’m finally to see a change on the scale. So happy!

November 2
I’m so thankful for my Vilimek family! I got to celebrate my sister Mary’s birthday with her and her two awesome daughters. We went to the Murdoch Perk for brunch. It was awesome. I can’t even begin to describe how helpful they have been in helping me pass the time in St. Louis. I miss Mark terribly, but my Vilimek family helps me get through each week.

November 3
As I get everything together for my Ph.D application for UNM, I thankful to all of the people who are helping me and have helped me in my decision to do this. Leah has been an incredible help in doctoral candidate etiquette, Mark helped me craft my letter of intent, and I have some incredible people helping me with letters of recommendation. For the first time in a long time, I feel inspired. i have that God feeling…like I’m doing what God wants me to do with my life. I haven’t felt that sort of direction in a while, so it’s nice to feel so energized!
