Five days down…how many more to go?

So, I don’t know how women who don’t work handle it when their husband is deployed. I know that so many Air Force wives stay home—with or without kids. I think being home is the hardest part when Mark is gone. Hopefully, Mark will get to come home tomorrow. In the mean time, Scout and Darcy are my saving grace. They cuddle with me, annoy me, and love me.

I’m probably most proud of the fact that I actually cooked every night this week. I didn’t have one microwave meal. And tonight is the first night that I really copped out. I kept it simple making pizza on bagels instead of steak with mushroom sauce, chicken alfredo over biscuits, or chicken carbonara.

I’ve realized the key to Mark is staying busy. So here’s my plan for the night: no grading; instead I am going to read for fun (probably my Madeline Albright book about the pin collection she started while Secretary of State), drink my wine, talk to Mark, and go to bed early.

Tomorrow, it’s grading, grading, and more grading. Then, I have to enter grades. I’ll probably try to take pictures of our new house—after the last part of our Pottery Barn furniture comes.
